Born into a legacy of faith and service, Reverend Junior is the second son of the late Dr. Gusta Booker Jr., the Founding Pastor of Greater St.

 

Matthew Church, and the late Dr. Theola Booker. From a young age, he demonstrated a passion for music and for life, actively participating in

 

the vibrant music programs of HISD schools, shaping his journey towards a life dedicated to serving others.

 

Graduating in the top 5% of his class from Willowridge High School, Reverend Junior had the opportunity to pursue higher education across

 

the nation. However, he chose to stay rooted in Texas, attending Lamar University, where he not only honed his academic prowess but also met

 

his lifelong partner and wife, Nicole Booker.

 

During his time at Lamar, GB3 immersed himself in various activities, from student government to fraternity leadership as a member of Alpha

 

Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. His dedication to service and leadership earned him recognition as a finalist for the Richard Kemble Outstanding

 

Senior Award. Armed with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, Reverend Junior continued his educational journey, earning a master's

 

degree in Ministry from Grace School of Theology Seminary, solidifying his commitment to serving God's people and his community. Currently

 

he is an active member of the Alumni board at Grace School of Theology.

 

A mortgage lender by trade, Pastor Booker taught the First Time Homebuyers Class

 

for the Houston Urban League, his impact continues to be felt in a variety of community

 

initiatives beyond the church walls. In addition to his duties as Greater St Mathew

 

Church Senior Pastor, his love for the Houston community is shown in his service

 

on such esteemed committees as the HISD Bond Oversight Committee and the

 

Tax Incremental Reinvestment Zone 8 (TIRZ), advocating for education and

 

community development. Additionally, Pastor GB3 is actively involved in the

 

SouthPark Alliance for Empowerment (S.A.F.E), demonstrating his

 

commitment to uplifting his community.

 

As an extension of Greater St. Matthew, our Senior Pastor serves as the

 

Director of two non-profit organizations: GSM Uplift, and the

 

Lighthouse, leading programs like the food distributions, toy drives, and a

 

variety of community events that embody the spirit of servant leadership

exemplified by Christ.

 

Despite his myriad of commitments, Pastor GB3's cherished role is that of

family man: husband to Nicole Booker for 31 years, and father to their

talented daughter, Peyton Nicole.
